Nevadans Prep for Yucca Battle Even as Funding Faces Long Odds

The odds may be against opening the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste site anytime soon, but Nevadans are sharpening their pitchforks anyway.

Nevadans opposed to Yucca Mountain are escalating their fight against a federal government eager to license and build the nuclear waste repository, even though they say bills in Congress moving the project forward face tough prospects and unanimous bipartisan opposition from Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval and the state’s congressional delegation.
