National Park Service Must Face Lawsuit Over Alaska Hunting Rule

A lawsuit challenging the National Park Service’s rule allowing certain wolf and bear hunting practices on national preserves in Alaska can proceed to a review on the merits, a federal judge in the state ruled in a loss for the agency.

Alaska Wildlife Alliance, the Sierra Club, and 11 other groups sued after the agency allowed sport hunters to bait bears, shoot wolves during denning season, and use other methods to increase the killing of predators.
