More small chemical manufacturers and local governments will be able to skip filing chemical production reports or file them for fewer chemicals, according to a final rule that the EPA released Tuesday.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s rule (RIN 2070-AK57) updates its 1984 definition of entities that must file production volume and other information under existing regulations, including the Chemical Data Reporting rule.
The updated definition allows companies to be considered small if they meet either of two standards.
