Monsanto Asks Court to Toss Farmers’ Bid to Reopen Dicamba Case

New legal challenges to the EPA’s latest approval of Monsanto’s dicamba should be rejected rather than return to a court that has already closed out lawsuits over the herbicide, the agency and company argue.

Attorneys for the Environmental Protection Agency and Bayer AG urged the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit to deny an attempt by environmental groups to amend their challenge to the EPA’s 2016 dicamba registration to also include the most recent two-year renewal completed on Oct. 31, 2018.
