Modi Earmarks $6.5 Billion to Revive India’s Struggling Solar

Rooftop solar and solar-powered agricultural pumps, two areas of India’s solar sector struggling to take off, will receive 460 billion rupees ($6.5 billion) in support under a new program approved by the government.

The funding is part of a bid to help India hit its target of 100 gigawatts of solar capacity by 2022.
