Minnesota Transit Authority Beats Preservation Group’s Suit

A preservation group’s suit against a regional transportation agency in Minnesota must be dismissed, the Eighth Circuit said July 1.

The Lake and Parks Alliance of Minneapolis sued the Metropolitan Council and the Federal Transit Administration over planning for the Southwestern Light Rail Transit Project. The project is a proposed transit line linking Minneapolis with its suburbs. LPA claimed the agencies violated the National Environmental Policy Act during the planning process.
