Michigan, Flint Officials Appeal Legionnaire’s Death Ruling

Former Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder (R) and other state and City of Flint officials are appealing an order denying them immunity from claims that they violated a woman’s right to bodily integrity in connection with her death from Legionnaire’s disease, according to filings in a Michigan federal court.

State and city officials argued they were entitled to qualified immunity because Cholyonda Brown, who filed the lawsuit on behalf of her late mother Odie Brown, failed to show that any of them violated a clearly established constitutional right.
