Maui Asks Supreme Court to Hear Groundwater Case

The U.S. Supreme Court will have an opportunity to weigh in on a question that could have widespread implications for water pollution law after a Hawaii county asked the high court to hear the long-running case.

Maui County is asking the Supreme Court to reverse an appeals court ruling that found the county is liable for discharging treated wastewater underground because it eventually went on to pollute the Pacific Ocean.
