Massachusetts is re-starting a program of cash rebates for purchases of electric vehicles.
Massachusetts has started as of Jan. 1 to offer up to $2,500 per electric vehicle and $1,500 for certain gas-electric hybrids purchased in the state. Only vehicles under $50,000 are eligible.
The state will set aside $27 million each year in 2020 and 2021 for the popular program, part of its “holistic and proactive strategy to combat climate change,” Gov. Charlie Baker (R) announced Dec. 31.
