Massachusetts sees itself as a future “hub of offshore wind development,” Stephen Pike, CEO of the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center, said May 11 during a discussion on offshore wind in the northeast.
“We want Boston to become the North American equivalent of Denmark,” Pike said. Massachusetts doesn’t host any offshore wind turbines yet. It is currently reviewing bids to build a 400-megawatt wind farm off its coast.
