Massachusetts Names Renewable Energy Contract Winner (2)

Northern Pass Hydro, a proposal developed by Hydro-Quebec and Northern Pass Transmission LLC, was picked by Massachusetts to deliver clean energy to the state.

The project emerged as the winner after a highly competitive process that attracted nearly 50 proposals. Companies vied for 20-year contracts with the state’s major utility companies—Eversource Energy, National Grid PLC, and Unitil—to deliver up to 1,200 megawatts of clean energy to Massachusetts.
