Manufacturers, Farmers Appeal Reinstatement of Obama-era Water Rule (1)

Manufacturers, farmers, and a host of other industry groups wasted no time in appealing a federal court decision reinstating an Obama-era rule defining the scope of the Clean Water Act in 26 states and the District of Columbia.

An industry coalition led by the National Association of Manufacturers notified the U.S. District Court for the District of Southern California of its intention to appeal the Aug. 16 ruling, which suspended the Trump administration’s delay (RIN:2040–AF80) of the waters of the U.S. rule, or WOTUS. The EPA had delayed that regulation from taking effect until February 2020
