Mandatory Manufacturer PFAS Reporting Urged in Maine (1)

Maine state lawmakers should pass legislation requiring companies that use “forever chemicals” in consumer goods to report that use, most members of Maine’s PFAS Task Force said in a final report released Thursday.

The report identifies per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination in the state, data gaps, and strategies to address the chemicals as requested by Gov. Janet T. Mills (D) when she launched the task force last March.
