Land Bureau’s Oregon Logging Project Facing Renewed Fight

The Bureau of Land Management’s proposed logging project in Oregon still fails to account for recreation in the area, despite a court order that it must do so, according to a lawsuit filed in a federal court in the state.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon previously ruled the agency needed to designate and preserve a recreation management zone before the timber harvest, and it needed to fully analyze and disclose the degree of which the project would increase the risk of wildfire for adjacent communities.
