Kids’ Climate Case Rightly Dismissed, Trump Lawyers Tell Court

The Trump administration on Tuesday urged federal judges to reject a rehearing request from 21 young plaintiffs who recently lost their ambitious climate lawsuit against the federal government.

Justice Department lawyers said the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit was right to dismiss the well-known “Juliana case” in January, after concluding it couldn’t provide the primary relief the litigants sought: a plan to draw down U.S. reliance on fossil fuels.
