Energy Groups Join Keystone XL Pipeline Permit Suit (Corrected)

Five national energy organizations have nudged their way into a federal lawsuit in Montana that challenges the legality of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’s approvals for major portions of the Keystone XL pipeline.

The American Gas Association, American Petroleum Institute, Association of Oil Pipe Lines, Interstate Natural Gas Association of America, and National Rural Electric Cooperative Association may join the litigation, but their participation is limited to “filing briefs in support of federal defendants’s and TC Energy’s motions,” Judge Brian M. Morris said Nov. 7 for the U.S. District Court for the District of Montana.
