Justices Should Reject Endangered Species Case, Sierra Club Says

The Sierra Club is pushing back on the Trump administration’s bid for the Supreme Court to keep certain Endangered Species Act records under wraps.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Marine Fisheries Service recently petitioned the justices to reverse a lower court’s ruling that required the agencies to release draft documents from a contentious species consultation process.

Sierra Club lawyers argued in a Jan. 6 brief that the Supreme Court should deny the administration’s request and leave the ruling intact.
