Israel’s Biggest Wind Farm, if Approved, Could Power 40,000 Homes

Plans for Israel’s largest wind farm, expected to generate enough energy to power 40,000 households, are proceeding but could face a lawsuit by environmentalists concerned about harm to endangered vultures.

If built, the facility will comprise 30 turbines producing about 96 megawatts of electricity, about four times the capacity of Israel’s existing wind farms, Enlight Renewable Energy, the operator, said in a Tel Aviv Stock Exchange filing June 10.
