Interior’s FOIA Policy Draws House Democrats’ Criticism (1)

An Interior Department memo allowing special review for Freedom of Information Act requests about politically appointed staff was only written to shield former Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke from scrutiny, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said March 13.

Wasserman Schultz’s comments came at a House Oversight and Reform Committee hearing on government transparency that Democrats hoped can demonstrate what they see as improper conduct inside the Trump administration.
