Interior to Open New Lands to Coal Leasing in Colorado

Fossil fuels development will be expanded on federal public lands in western Colorado as part of the first final federal land management plan reflecting the Trump administration’s energy agenda.

The Bureau of Land Management on June 28 published its proposed final resource management plan for the Uncompahgre region of western Colorado. The proposal, open to a 30-day public protest period before being fully finalized in the fall, is among the first fully revised resource plans issued by the Trump administration for a BLM field area.
