Ingersoll-Rand Faces $1.4 Million Claim in New York Site Cleanup

An Western New York property owner wants Ingersoll-Rand Inc. to pay $1.4 million to clean up hazardous chemicals from optical equipment manufacturing operations, according to a new lawsuit in federal district court.

Soil and groundwater at a property near Rochester owned by Ridgecrest Associates LP was contaminated with trichloroethylene, heavy metals, and other pollutants released by Ingersoll-Rand’s predecessor, according to the complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of New York.
