Illinois Medical Sterilizer Plant Won’t Be Reopened Just Yet

An Illinois judge delayed making a decision on whether to permit Sterigenics U.S. LLC to reopen its medical sterilization facility in Willowbrook, Ill.

Judge Paul M. Fullerton, in a July 24 bench ruling, permitted four municipalities to intervene in the case, over the objections of Sterigenics.

The move delays a decision on whether to approve or reject a proposed consent order between Sterigenics and two officials, Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul (D) and DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin (R).
