Illinois Lawmakers Need Special Session for Exelon, Energy Bill

The Illinois Legislature will meet in a special session to rewrite state energy policy after it failed to complete the work during the regular session, legislators said.

“I expect we’re going to come back to take up an energy package,” state Senate President Don Harmon (D) told reporters Tuesday evening, a day after the regular session ended. “We’ll be working with the governor and the speaker to make sure we’re ready to come back and pass that bill efficiently.”
