A bipartisan House bill and a minority-led Senate bill propose prohibiting the Department of Defense from buying dental floss, sunscreen, cookware and other products containing so-called forever chemicals, or PFAS.
Reps. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) and Mike Turner (R-Ohio) will introduce the legislation, to be named the “PFAS-Free Military Purchasing Act.” Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) will introduce companion legislation, Slotkin announced Monday.
