House Republican Seeks Land Fix in Pending Conservation Package

Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah) is trying to galvanize support from some Democrats to tweak major conservation legislation before the House votes on it later this month.

The top Republican on the Natural Resources Committee today is sending a letter to 154 colleagues, including many Eastern Democrats, asking for help to strip out language related to Forest Service federal land acquisition in the Senate-passed Great American Outdoors Act.
