House Democrats, Oil Industry Clash Over EPA’s Science Proposal

An oil and gas industry group said the EPA’s proposal to make scientific data more transparent is essential for sound regulations, while House Democrats called for its withdrawal.

Scientific data should be transparent, reproducible, and available to the public as early as possible in the agency’s rulemaking process, Ted Steichen, representing the American Petroleum Institute, said at a public hearing July 17.
