HILL ENERGY BRIEFING: GOP Resists Democrats Water Infrastructure Plan

House Transportation and Infrastructure Republicans aren’t happy with the water infrastructure measure set for a mark up today, Kellie Lunney reports.

Ranking member Sam Graves (R-Mo.) has criticized the bill as partisan, in part because it would authorize $50 billion over the next five years for upgrades and replacement of the nation’s wastewater and stormwater infrastructure, including $40 billion for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund. The measure (H.R. 1915) has 60 co-sponsors, including two Republicans, Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.) and Jeff Van Drew (N.J.).
