Head of Energy Department Cybersecurity Office Named by Trump (1)

Karen Evans, leader of a public-private cybersecurity training program, was tapped to head the Energy Department’s new Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response.

Evans has been the director since 2010 of the U.S. Cyber Challenge, a program supported by the Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Directorate and the Center for Internet Security, a nonprofit group. The organization’s mission is to increase the cybersecurity workforce through recruitment and training.
