Former Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R-Fla.) was disinvited as a Democratic witness for a May 15 climate change hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee.
Curbelo’s adviser JP Chavez said May 10 that Curbelo had been invited. The invitation was withdrawn later in the day by the committee.
Curbelo served in the House from 2015 to 2019 and was expected to discuss his legislation to put a price on carbon and tax companies for each ton of carbon they emit.
