EPA Blasted for Rush to Get Chemical Analyses Reviewed (1)

The EPA will try to give the public more time to comment to independent scientists who critique the agency’s chemical risk evaluations, the agency’s top chemicals official said July 29.

But it can’t promise to do so, said Alexandra Dapolito Dunn, EPA’s assistant administrator for chemical safety and pollution prevention.

Dunn was responding to criticism from industry groups and environmentalists that the Environmental Protection Agency is rushing its draft chemical risk evaluations through scientific, or “peer” review.
