Feds Challenge Decision Ordering More Climate Review for Leases

The Trump administration is challenging the latest court ruling to fault the Interior Department for inadequate analysis of the climate impacts of oil and gas leasing.

Government lawyers filed a notice of appeal Monday, taking aim at the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia’s November decision. The court found that Interior’s Bureau of Land Management didn’t properly consider the greenhouse gas emissions associated with leasing in Wyoming, even after it conducted a court-ordered addition to its original analysis.
