FAA Must Consider Challenge to Bob Hope Airport Renovation Noise

The Federal Aviation Administration must revisit its decision to allow the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority to start construction on a replacement terminal at the Bob Hope Airport, a divided Ninth Circuit ruled Wednesday.

Los Angeles challenged the agency’s environmental impact statement for the project, arguing that it didn’t take a hard look at the noise impacts from the project and didn’t adequately consider a range of alternatives.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit agreed that the agency didn’t comply with the National Environmental Policy Act, and remanded to the FAA to redo the deficient parts of its analysis. ...
