Exxon, BP Targeted in New Climate Case from Maryland County

A Maryland county is taking BP Plc, Exxon Mobil Corp., and other companies to court over their role in climate change, the latest in a steadily growing wave of litigation against the oil industry.

Anne Arundel County, Md., filed suit Tuesday in state court, accusing more than two dozen companies of deceiving the public about the leading role fossil fuels play in driving up global temperatures.
