An ingredient in cosmetics and three chemicals used to make plastics and polymers have joined a list of “substances of very high concern,” European Chemicals Agency said Thursday.
The addition of the four low-volume substances brings to 209 the number of chemicals flagged for possible bans in the European Union under the bloc’s REACH law.
Chemicals on the list have been formally identified as posing serious risks to health or the environment.
