EPA Would Get Less Money Under House Bill Than Biden Proposal

The Environmental Protection Agency and Interior Department would each receive roughly $2 billion more in fiscal 2023 than they did in fiscal 2022 under draft legislation House appropriators released Monday.

The Interior-Environment spending legislation would give EPA a total of $11.5 billion for fiscal 2023, $2 billion more than the enacted fiscal 2022 level but $400 million less than what President Joe Biden requested for the agency, according to a summary from the House Appropriations Committee.
