EPA Aims to Boost Science Integrity in Chemicals Division (1)

The Environmental Protection Agency’s chemicals office said on Thursday it’s forming two new internal advisory councils to shore up scientific integrity.

Its Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP) also is creating a new role for a senior-level science policy adviser, and making a set of improvements to its internal science integrity policies.

The changes align with the administration’s focus on firming up professionalism and restoring public trust linked to the way the EPA handles science, especially in the wake of alleged violations during the Trump administration.
