EPA Releases Details of Oversight Decisions on New Chemicals (1)

The EPA has begun to give the public greater insight into its oversight of chemicals that are newly made in or imported into the U.S.

The Environmental Protection Agency announced that it will begin to routinely post chemical manufacturers’ requests to make and import new chemicals and the materials companies submit with those requests.

“Starting today we will do this within 45 days” of receiving a manufacturer’s request, Alexandra Dapolito Dunn, EPA’s assistant administrator for chemical safety and pollution prevention, told Bloomberg Environment May 31.
