The EPA is proposing to simplify companies’ reporting of chemical production, import, and use data to the agency.
The Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule April 12 that would revise its Chemical Data Reporting (CDR) program that helps a variety of groups understand what chemicals are in commerce.
The database associated with the program allows the public, nongovernmental organizations, and other companies to see approximate amounts of what chemicals firms produce and where—when that information isn’t protected as a trade secret.
