EPA Overhauls Strategic Plan to Add New Climate, Equity Goals

The draft version of the EPA’s new strategic plan includes—for the first time—a goal focused on addressing climate change and a commitment to advance justice and equity, the agency said Friday.

Included under the climate section are goals to reduce emissions, accelerate resilience and adaptation, and move forward on international efforts. The equity goals include promoting environmental justice and civil rights at all levels of government and strengthening civil rights enforcement.
