The EPA may have failed to report $10.3 million in improper grant payments, the agency’s internal watchdog said in a Monday report.
Those problems could continue because the Environmental Protection Agency hasn’t set up a reliable risk assessment system, the Office of Inspector General said. In fiscal 2021, the EPA only reported $89,000 in improper payments.
