The EPA ignored evidence about methane pollution and its impacts on communities of color, a coalition of environmental groups alleged Tuesday in a new lawsuit.

The Environmental Defense Fund and several local, regional and national environmental and civil rights groups are taking aim at the Environmental Protection Agency’s recent decision to effectively roll back Obama-era restrictions to prevent leaks of methane emissions from new oil and gas wells and related equipment. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas.
