EPA Hasn’t Fully Met Financial Reporting Goals, Watchdog Says

The EPA still hasn’t fully met the White House’s standards for reporting accurate financial data to the Treasury Department, the agency’s internal watchdog said Monday.

Nevertheless, the Environmental Protection Agency is generally doing a good job of financial reporting, according to the Office of Inspector General.

Those findings help satisfy one of the key challenges the inspector general identified in July 2020, when it said the agency must improve the accuracy and timeliness of its data so it can make program decisions and measure progress.
