The Office of Land and Emergency Management finalized the Environmental Protection Agency’s “EJ Action Plan: Building Up Environmental Justice in EPA’s Land Protection and Cleanup Programs,” according to a news release Friday.
The agency said the four main goals of the plan are to strengthen compliance with cornerstone environmental statutes, incorporate environmental justice considerations during the regulatory development process, improve community engagement in rulemakings, permitting decisions, and policies, and implement the administration’s Justice40 initiative.
