EPA Expands Tracking List of PFAS Chemicals, With More to Come

The EPA has revised its list of tracked “forever chemicals” to more accurately reflect the toxic compounds that companies and federal facilities are tracking and must report next July.

The Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) now lists 172 per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds, up from the 160 that the Environmental Protection Agency widely announced in January. The inventory is a publicly available database on toxic chemical releases.
