EPA Skips Lead Pipe Hearing, But Lawmakers Await Response (3)

A leading Democrat on the House Energy and Commerce Committee said Tuesday he will wait to see how the EPA responds to comments on proposed revisions to the federal lead and copper rule before taking legislative action.

“We’ll take a look at what they do and see how they respond to these concerns” about lead contamination of drinking water supplies, Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y), who chairs the Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change, said after the hearing.
