EPA Seeks Faster Chemical Reviews to Meet Deadlines (1)

EPA leadership is seeking faster chemical risk reviews from its independent advisers to avoid missing its statutory deadlines.

The EPA’s Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals advises the agency on the scientific basis for risk assessments and pollution prevention approaches for chemicals regulated under the Toxic Substances Control Act. The committee is working its way through risk evaluations for 10 chemicals, and expects 20 more.
