Environmentalists Blocked from Defending Biden Oil Leasing Pause

Environmentalists were shut out of litigation over the Biden administration’s oil leasing freeze after a federal judge rejected an attempt to intervene on the government’s side.

The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana said the Natural Resources Defense Council, Healthy Gulf, and other groups hadn’t shown that federal government lawyers wouldn’t adequately represent their interests while fending off a Louisiana-led challenge to the leasing pause.
