Entergy Shops More Nuclear Power Plants That It Plans to Close

Entergy Corp. wants to sell more of its nuclear power plants that are scheduled to close and leave the job of dismantling the reactors to someone else.

The New Orleans-based power provider is seeking deals like one announced in November for the Vermont Yankee plant it closed in 2014, Chief Financial Officer Drew Marsh said in a phone interview Feb. 15. It recently announced plans to close the Palisades plant in Michigan and Indian Point north of New York City amid a renewed focus on regulated utilities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, Marsh said.
