Subsidiaries of billionaire Kelcy Warren’s Energy Transfer LP have pleaded no contest to criminal charges related to the construction of two pipelines in Pennsylvania, state Attorney General Josh Shapiro said Friday.
“We’re holding Energy Transfer accountable for their crimes against natural resources,” Shapiro said during a press conference.
The state accused Energy Transfer of failing to report the release of drilling fluids during the construction of Mariner East 2 Pipeline while “repeatedly” ignoring environmental protocols that contributed to a explosion at Revolution Pipeline in 2018.
