Energy Sector Jobs Grew Overall in 2017, While Solar Declined (1)

Energy sector employment added 133,000 net new jobs in 2017, despite losses in the solar industry due to a reduction in installations between 2016 and 2017.

“Solar jobs declined for the first time since 2010, but other low-emissions forms of electric generation—wind, combined heat and power, geothermal, low-impact hydro, advanced low-emissions natural gas—all grew,” said David Foster, lead author of a report released May 16.
